According to Atariology lore, there are three types of possible cheats in life:
Black Cheat - A cheat which allows the player to play the game without opposition. Unfotunately, playing the game without opposition often leads to a boring game and premature suicide.
Ultra Cheat – This has all of the benefits of the Black Cheat, except that the game remains pleasant to play. This type of cheat is not available until the 22nd century; Nintendo dominates this emerging market.
Omni Cheat – Followers of Atariology believe that the belief in Atariology is an omni-cheat. This means that only followers of Atariology understand the true structure of the Universe and can anticipate its behavior.
Cheat codes exist in video-games; do they exist in real life? Everyone has their own formula: Is it a prayer? Is it in a Himalayan quartz crystal? These ideas are considered primitive by the time Atariology becomes a popular religion. By the 23rd century, the dominant formulation of cheats in real life is an Atariology methodology, simular to acupuncture, known as Sharquism. Sharquism is a combination of technological huksterism and superstition about nano-technology.
